I was able to successfully make Dillon some baby food this week, my neighbor gave me some sweet potatoes and peaches so I actually combined the two and mashed them with my blender and froze it in ice cube trays which makes the perfect size serving for the wee ones. Obviously D is not ready for baby food yet but the way time flies it won't be long. It will be in the freezer waiting on him to get ready. I plan on make more but this kicks us off for now. More than likely I will be making on large or small zip lock bag of each veggie and fruit that way I can make sure he likes each one and to rule out any allergies before I go on a baby food making frenzy.
Kevin has had several work opportunities offered this week, the police department has finally officially offered him the job as an officer which he agreed to take but needs to discuss the details with them such date of start and such. In this time Delta has called and offered him a job as well which he also agreed to take but might turn down. When he is home we will discuss all the ins and outs of everything. All in all we know Delta=more money but Police department=more stability.

Creeping up on 4 months old
Dillon is almost four months, only 8 days to go and time is flying by. It seems like yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital and he was such a tiny baby. I have been busy and usually only have one free hand which I am sure all you moms can relate to.
An eye update, well I went to my appt and the opthamologist was unable to figure out what was wrong but I did go ahead and get new glasses. He also recommended that I see an opthamologist neurologist in Atlanta so in the days following I was able to set up an appt for August 2nd. Kevin made plans to take off work and go with me to the appt and I made arrangement for our sweet neighbors to watch Dillon while we were at the appt. The neuro did several vision tests and then a mri first without the dye injection and then with the dye. That was interesting I have never had an mri before so that was a 1st for me. All in all the diagnoses was that during the end of my pregnancy when the symptoms started my optic nerve became inflammed. No major problems such as brain tumors so that is a huge praise! It is still possible that the optic nerve became inflammed due to multiple sclerosis but at the current time I am doing better although the eye problem still exist so just taking it one step at a time.
Dillon is getting big, he was 12lbs 6oz as of two weeks ago, he loves to roll over now mostly from back to belly. He is trying to scoot and figure out how to crawl but has a while to go before he will actually crawl. I took him to the dr two weeks ago because he was struggling with constipation and we thought he had hemmerhoids but it seems it was just a tear of some of the sensitive tissue down there. Dr advised us to use some a&d cream and give him pear juice, however, we found that white grape juice works best for him. Screaming and loud sqeaky noises are his favorite to make, he will sit in his bouncer and screech and scream just to hear himself talk. His hair gets alot of comments because it is so fuzzy and sticks up all the time its very cute. His four month appt is in 9 days and he will be getting more nasty vaccinations which I am happy he will have the protection of the vaccines but not happy about seeing him cry when they give him the shots. I mentioned to dh about his appt but not sure if he is planning to go with us or not.
In other family news Rachel and Joel are expecting again she is about 9 or 10 weeks now and had her first appt when she was 8 weeks. She will be due at the end of March.
There are some things going on which I don't wish to write about in detail but I am sure God is using these things to teach me something I am just not sure what and its hard to see the good amidst the bad and hard times but I will trust in him and his plans.

In recent news
Dillon is doing better, he has acid reflux and a milk allergy but the similac alimentum and prevacid seem to be helping. He was 8lbs 1oz last Monday. We go back to the pedi at 2 months for a check up and some vaccinations. He stays awake alot more now days and loves to shower with his daddy and coos and gets all quite in the shower I think he is gonna love the water. He smiles now some too and loves to look at fans, lights, and trees.
My eye is not any better so I have a vision appt for the 7th and will also get new glasses then too, if he can't find anything it will be time to set up an appt with a neurologist.
Gotta go he is waking up!:)

Dillon is here( this is late I know)
Here is the story, sorry it took so long to post!
Things got started Tuesday night at about 11pm I started feeling sick to my stomach, so I got on up in order to not disturb Kevin. I spent the next few hours on the bathroom floor near the toliet with a damp cold washcloth. I never did end up actually getting sick but felt like I would. The funniest part was hubby and had been fishing the day or two before and there were crickets in the bathtub and they were emitting the most wonderful smell so inbetween my waves of nausau I had to remove the crickets by sitting them outside in a trashcan(they were in one of those little fishing containers) on our front stairs.I noticed that I was having contractions but could only tell if I put my hand on stomach, they were not painful and could not really be timed. Kevin went on to work that morning and my day was pretty normal. That night we stayed up preety late watching television. I had been losing my mucus plug for over a week now and went to the restroom and saw bloody show, my midwife said to call when this happens. So I put a call in and the doctor was paged inbetween that time I started having contractions that were painful enough I could time them. They would range from two to six minutes apart. The doctor called me back about two hours later and basically said it was up to me as to if I wanted to go in but it was probably fine to wait it out at home. My contractions got to two to three minutes apart with some still being five minutes apart. I got Kevin up about 2am and we headed in to the hospital since we were forty five minutes away. The nurses hooked me up for a nst and wanted to do a 30 minute strip for the midwife to see. I was admitted and told the midwife would check me at 8 or so that morning. They did check me when I got there and I was 1-2 cm, the midwife checked me and I was still 1-2cm so she said if I was trying to go natural it would be better to go home and come back when they are 3minutes apart consistently and all the same length. So we headed home and Kevin went on to work even after being up all night. I tried to rest but the contractions were too painful I only had back labor the whole entire time I was in labor. I did get a little rest but woke up in the most pain ever, going back and forth between laying over the back of the couch and the birthing ball using contraction master to time the contractions. Finally at 6 or so Kevin came home we ate and he went to bed, he only go an hour before I called the midwife and told her I couldn't take it anymore I was beyond exhausted and ready for some relief. She said just to come in when we get ready and the nurses would keep her updated. She was totally understanding and agreed I needed some rest. So to Kevins dismay I woke him up and told him the contractions were closer togather and I wanted to go in and get an epidural and be checked. We went on in and I was hugging the handle at the top of the door every time I would contract during the 45 minute drive. Once we got there I remember laying on the water fountain with my pillow as I could hardly hold myself up due to the pain. They hooked me up for another nst, got me admitted and iv put in. They had to get in at least a bag and a half before giving the epidural. The anestieologist came in and was so professional and helpful in answering our questions. Kevin stepped out while I got the epidural and it wasn't near as painful as the contractions. I was able to finally sleep even though the epi made my heart feel funny. I dilated to 5 by 2am and then they gave me a bolus of fentanyl(a different anes.) and soon after I told dh get the nurse I feel spacey headed and my heart feels funny. Dillons heartrate dropped so they put me on oxygen and it came back up. Dh said I passed out for a second. I was dilated to a good eight when the midwife came in, she also noted that he was sunny side up and started pitocin so that my contractions would be really strong and also turned off the epi. She warned me a csection might be a possibility and of course I freaked a little. A little later she broke my water and we were all surprised at how it came out dhs mom and dh were trying to cover our drinks on the table that was nearby lol. I dilated to a 10 and she started trying to turn him which was extrememly painful but neccessary. She called in the other doctor to start the vacuum extractor. After about 30 minutes of pushing and the vacuum he came out and onto my belly. They gave me a small episiotomy of the skin but didn't have to cut the muscle. So I had to get stitched up which also was very painful. We spent the rest of the day snuggly with our little 6lbs 3oz baby boy 19 inches long. Kevin and his mother went with him to get his bath and while they got me moved to a room. We stayed an extra day in the hospital to make sure he didn't get jaundice since the bruise he developed during delivery could indicate the start of jaundice. Finally on 5/23 Dillon got to ride in the car and see his new home for the first time.
The three of us are doing well although the first two days were hard, he is on a better schedule and sleeps preety well at night. Nurses every two to three hours but sometimes goes four. Yesterday we had a bad day he has acid reflux and spit up so much that I had to change pants but we modified his feeds and leave sitting up for 30 minutes afterward and so far that is helping. As of last tuesday all checked out well at the peds office and he gained 3oz go back for a check on Friday.Went on in Thursday due to stomach problems he either has acid reflux or a milk allergy, I am cutting dairy out of my diet for three days and we will see what happens. He weighs 6lbs 8oz now so woohoo on gaining his birth weight back and more.

Hindsight and Eyesight,Ketchup too!
Geez I am so horrible about keeping this updated, so time for getting out the ketchup. I thought of a funny childhood memory as I wrote ketchup verses catch up. In the second grade my teacher would put a ketcup bottle up at the front of the classroom and whenever she did this was our time to work on unfinished assignments so that is where the title comes from. As I went to write this I had to look back at my last post since its been so long.
So what has Dillon been up to lately
*32 weeks weighing in at 4lbs 1oz
*36 weeks fluid levels back up from 7 measuring 8-10
*I passed the group b strep test
*37 weeks Non Stress Test looks good
*38 weeks Good NST, I am starting to efface but no dilation yet
*39 week appt on Friday 5/15 AFI check and cervical check
In other news around week 36 I started to expeirence some visual changes in one eye. I noticed flash spots like when someone takes a picture using a flash but these spots are constant. It has increasingly gotten worse so I visited the eye doctor and he was unable to find anything wrong. At this point I am mainly functioning with my left eye with not much vision in my right eye. The only thing my midwife can relate it to is more fluid and blood volume possibly putting pressure on a nerve. I am hoping and praying this is the problem as that will mean delivery of this little man will be the cure. The midwife and I discussed induction due to the vision problem but with no dilation it would be best if I can just be patient and wait it out. So as hard as it is I am patiently waiting and currently at 9 days until my due date. The first week that the vision got really bad I was very emotional some of it hormones but some of it fear and concern for my eyesight. Trying not to borrow trouble and think about what it could be or having to take care of a newborn with only one eye functioning. Kevin and I had a good talk and I was able to get him to talk to me instead of doing the whole guy thing and keeping all his fears in so after the talk I felt more supported and like he is with me through all of this.
38 weeks and counting........................
